Attention all Canada travel and experience writers. Do you have a great experience or story to tell about travel and tourism in Canada? Tell us about your time hiking the Rocky Mountains, your week-long road trip through northern Quebec, or your top dining experiences in Winnipeg.

We are looking for great, shareable content that focuses on adding excitement to the lives of those living in or visiting Canada. The We Explore Canada editorial team is focused on authentic, exciting, and active living experiences across the country.

We are heavily invested in city guides, dining guides, stories that boost small and minority businesses within the Canadian tourism industry, as well as stories that promote Indigenous tourism in the country.

Before pitching, please review our content and ensure that you are pitching a story that has not been covered in the past.

Writing Guidelines

We Explore Canada is focused on content with the reader’s experience at the forefront. We love personal experiences and anecdotes. However, articles should be written with the intent of helping the reader to experience the magic of travel in Canada for themselves.

Use your personal experience in a destination to help craft tips, guides, and helpful content that goes beyond your personal journey and explores how a reader can follow in your inspirational footsteps.

All articles are expected to be, at minimum, 1,000 words. More is appreciated but not expected. We Explore Canada articles should also be focused on specific targets. Try not to ramble or cover a scope that is too broad in a single article.

A few examples are as follows:

8 Can’t-Miss Breweries in British Columbia: Taking the Northwest BC Ale Trail from Prince George to Prince Rupert

Exploring the Towns of British Columbia’s Powder Highway: Skiing Or Not, There’s Much to Appreciate

Visit The Most Haunted Places in Canada If You Dare

SEO-focused writing is appreciated, but our editing team has experience molding articles into SEO-friendly formats, so previous SEO experience is not necessary. We are looking for unique angles, exciting ideas, and shareable topics.

Topic Ideas

  • City Guides – We’re looking for everything from large cities to small towns.
  • Restaurant Guides – If you love food, tell us about your favourite restaurant in major cities throughout the country.
  • Road Trip Inspiration – Whether it’s the most exciting way to get from one major city to another with magical stops along the way or your ultimate Alberta National Parks bucket list journey.
  • Indigenous Tourism – We Explore Canada is a huge supporter of Indigenous tourism experiences in the country. We want to get these stories out to our readers.
  • Spa and Wellness Getaways – Do you love help people relax? Give us the stories about your top spa experiences in a particular city or an exclusive on a wellness destination that we haven’t covered.
  • Diversity – Can you speak from the angle of Canada’s incredibly diverse population? We want to hear from you. Can you write about Ten Black-Owned Travel Brands in Halifax or How To Experience An Authentic Lunar New Year in Vancouver?

What we DON’T Want

We are looking for evergreen content that is beneficial to our readers over the long term. As such, we are not looking for:

  • Short-term pop-up events, restaurants, and experiences
  • One-off special events. Any event coverage should be something notable that happens every year.
  • Content in which you have no experience
  • AI-written content
